On Thursday, November 14, at 6 p.m. we invite you to the opening of Virginijus Zalens's exhibition "Erotica in a Different Way". ADMISSION IS FREE. "This series of photographs touches on a wide variety of topics. What remains unchanged in them is the body. First of all, there is no cult of a beautiful body in the photographs. The author renounces beauty. As Gertrude Stain once said, calling a work beautiful is the same as declaring it dead. We can view the photograph "Just Don't Tell Anyone" as a postmodern expression and we can easily find similarities with Amedeo Modigliani's painting. The creator himself actively participates in some of the photographs. He reproduces some of the themes of the Czech photographer J. Saudek - "Braille". The author actively uses digital technologies. Although they are obvious, you cannot deny that they reveal the content with their help. You can't just call it a fashion statement or a tasteless edit." Romualdas Vinča Vilnius October 2024
